was founded by Terence Johnson,
a Certified Professional Coding Instructor and Certified Professional Medical Auditor.
Terence Johnson, JD, CPC-I, CPMA
Consultant/National Speaker/Educator
Terence Johnson is the President and CFO of CPC Solutions,
Inc., a Chicago-area based healthcare consulting firm. In
addition to providing coding education across the country,
Terence is a healthcare consultant with over 20 years
experience in physician coding, billing, and law.
Terence is a Certified Professional Coding Instructor (CPC-I)
through the American Academy of Professional Coders. In
addition, Terence holds certification as a Certified
Professional Medical Auditor(CPMA). His background includes
many years of multi-specialty consulting on coding and
compliance.
Terence has successfully completed the American Academy
of Professional Coders’ Professional Medical Coding
Curriculum Instructor Approval Program for presenting both
CPT and ICD-10 instruction. He has been approved by the
AAPC to teach the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum on
a national basis and has served as an instructor for the
Academy's Professional Medical Coding Curriculum Instructor
Approval Program. Terence also served on the National Legal
Advisory Committee of the American Academy of
Professional Coders.
Terence is the co-creator of the American Medical
Association’s Express Reference Cards. He is the co-creator
of the Coding Challenge computer board game, and various
other educational and coding-related products. Terence
authored the monthly Coding Compass article for Coding
Edge magazine for several years, giving advice/information
on compliance, coding, and regulatory issues. Terence is a
former national speaker for the American Academy of
Professional Coders. Terence has been a featured speaker at
the American Academy of Professional Coders' national
conference, American Healthcare Lawyers Association’s
Medicare and Medicaid Institute, many local conferences for
chapters of the American Academy of Professional Coders,
and others. Terence focuses on coding and billing issues of
provider practices, both large and small. He also
concentrates on health care regulatory issues, fraud and
abuse compliance, reimbursement issues, and PATH
guidelines.
Terence’s professional affiliations include: the American
Academy of Professional Coders, the Illinois Local Chapter of
the American Academy of Professional Coders and the Better
Business Bureau. Terence holds a B.A. from Iowa State
University and a J.D. from DePaul College of Law in Chicago,
Illinois.

CPC Solutions, Inc. has a wide client
base, serving small to large facilities. Current and past
clients include Lurie Childrens Hospital, Northwestern
Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Children's Pediatric Faculty
Foundation in Chicago, Aunt Martha’s Healthcare Network,
and the American Medical Association. CPCSI is the creator
of the Express Reference™ Cards produced by the American
Medical Association Press. CPCSI has worked for healthcare
facilities both large and small, from one-doctor offices to a
five-hundred doctor healthcare group. CPCSI audits both
providers and facilities. CPCSI has also performed auditing
services for the United States Department of Justice and
Blue Cross and Blue Shield. CPCSI has educated both
providers and payers on ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS II
coding and guidelines. CPCSI provided education to the
United States Department of Defense in Germany.
